Tytanium-K	Well, I don't blame anyone for not wanting to share what price they paid for their Prowler...it's as personal as you want it to be...but, in looking at a Purple '99 on eBay (item just ended), I know for a fact (Texastoys.com) wants $30,995 cuz that's what it's listed for on autotrader, but, the highest bid was $25,000 [basically what I kinda think it's worth w/12k miles] and Reserve wasn't met! So, does it all boil down to greed? I.E., wanting it now? Is the Prowla worth $31k? Should they 'deal' and accept less? Is it all one big crapshoot? Kinda like life itself? I'm just rambling, I know, and I haven't even had any coffee tonight! Guess I'm just asking out loud, what's reasonable to pay? What's a good deal? What's not a good deal? Maybe I'm asking for guidelines--now that I have one which 'I' feel I got a great deal on ($25K)! Maybe such a good deal, I won't be able to duplicate? Maybe I shouldn't have even started this thread--but--if other newbies read it...I think they'll identify. Maybe some of the rest of you, also, perhaps considering a 2nd Prowler & wondering yourselves, hey, what kinda guidelines should I judge the car vs price on. Sorry if none of this made any sense. YES what's reasonable to pay? That is a Hard one but I think having owned a 2000 black, woodward and a black-tie if you can get 97 pr 99 in mid 20's that is A good deal as long as it has low miles. 00 to 02 are good deals in low 30's. obi-wan	I know this is somewhat subjective but, I would not personally buy the earlier car. The 31 changes made in 2000 are, for the most part, very neat ones. I know some people will not agree with this but after driving and working on a number of them I must say I really like the "package" offered on the '00's and later. I own a '00 black that now has over 51,000 miles on her. I baby her, clean and wax her.She gets all kinds of pretty things given to her and I don't ask much in return-just trophies and reliable transportation. So far I've gotten all that and more-much more. I don't think I would be a happy with one of the earlier cars-yes I'm very spoiled( I am, I am!) Personally I'd like to see you pay a little more' if that's what it takes and I believe you'll get a lot more, all the way around. If you want any particulars just call me. 650-967-3609. I have to agree with above posts - DavidN 'bout summed it up pretty good with : "97 pr 99 in mid 20's that is A good deal as long as it has low miles. 00 to 02 are good deals in low 30's", unless of course you get a 'new', untitled one you probably looking at mid, upper 30's ! ALLEY CAT	Man of Metal - '99 low mileage cats have been going through the wholesale auction ring in the mid-20's. Higher mileage ones around 22/23K. A '01 blue went through at 31,700 a month ago. These are what the used car dealers are paying. I always state: A car is worth what it will bring in CASH, TODAY If you have a nice one, normal to low miles, and some warranty,,,,,,,it should bring top $$$ JMO
SR Roberts	I bought an 02 with 635 miles. I almost let it get by me for a few thousand dollars. I paid mid 30s. If you find a car you like go for it. This is the best time i've had in a long time and money well spent.
Dale Beaman	Just decide how much you want to pay or can afford and go find a car to fit your budget. I paid less than $30,000 for my car with 4300 miles in October of 2003. That is all I could afford and that is what the dealer was willing to take! He was ready to get rid of it (winter was coming) and I was ready to buy (Spring was only 6 months away)! I didn't steal it as both of us where happy. AC is right a car is only worth what someone will pay for it and what someone will sell it for! Don't put off buying one or you will not experience some of the best times of your life. Right now I would pay $35,000 for the same car. Who knows maybe $40,000 in a few more years. The more nice people I meet on POA and it's events and the more fun I have driving it only increases the value for me. Quoting Ebay "BUY IT NOW"
pumpkin	GREEDY ? ? ? Means excessive . . . We don't believe anyone that bought a Prowler and then wants to sell it can be considered greedy. Take for example the dealers that asked $60K -$75K for the first Prowlers that MSRP was $39K - that is what I would consider greedy. Hey, we're going to ask for as much as we want and then negotiate and see what we can get. I don't believe that is any way being greedy. You got to have someone that wants the car in the first place or you can ask $1 and if nobody wants the car then you won't even get that price. The price is determined by the position of the seller, if he needs the money then yes you can negotiate, if he doesn't need the money you'll have to pay his asking price or he won't sell it to you! Just think if all the Prowler owners now didn't need to sell their cars, then think of the higher prices they would bring. charlie bui	Price? ....The Prowler is priceless....but amazing affordable.... I had owned and driven nice cars before. From BMW 3 series, Z4, X5, Mercedes SLK ,E430 and latest collection, 02 Inca Gold Prowler. None of the other vehicles give me more joy, excitement, and looks than what the Prowler had brought in a short period of time. I have to say, you must have a feels for the Prowler to appreciate this vehicle. If you don't, a Prowler might be just another 4-wheels vehicle. You might as well move on... If you want excitement and can afford it, go for it. Anything you pay now, just think of it, you are paying at least $15-$30K less than other owners that bought it originally. Even paying a few thousands more than the average price today, is still consider a good bargain.....JUST DO IT. NO REGRETS....
prowlrman	Here's a little line I heard 30 years ago when I had just started my automotive career working as a mechanic in a dealer. I used to prep and repair the used cars before they went on the lot, and there were some "sorry" cars that went for high dollars. One day I asked the used car manager how he could ask so much money for some of the clunkers, and he told me a saying that I have never forgotten to this day, and believe it is applicable to every car purchase, no matter what the make, model, year, or price is. Ponder this for a moment as you read it and I'm sure you'll find as much insight in it as I have all these years. ed monahan	Prices fluctuate by the region of the country, the time of the year, and the condition and mileage of the car. Prices will be a little higher for another month or two and then descend, probably. Tough to sell a convertible in the winter in the colder states. Florida is in season all year round.
Randy Cobb	A reasonable price is a number that YOU define as reasonable. My experience- I was looking hard for a Kat in May & June of '02. After much thought and soul-searching I decided that I really wanted a yellow. At that time there were not any quality yellow ones for sell on POA, ebay, Autotraders, etc. I eventually struck a deal on a yellow at a Chrysler dealership in Knoxville, TN that had been titled with 286 miles on it. A guy had bought it on a Fri., took it to the lake that day, saw his buddie's Viper and traded it on a Viper that Monday. They delivered it on a flatbed (7/12/02)to my local dealer (freight included) for $39,650. Many would think that is too much, but it was the color I wanted, it was new (to me), and the market on prowlers seemed to be in that range at that time. I'm glad I didn't agonize over the purchase. If I was palnning on selling the car in a few months it would be one thing, but I plan on keeping it long term. It was what I wanted, when I wanted it, at a reasonable price and I have been extremely happy as a Prowler owner and that's what counts in the end! ------------------
